I think at some point in everyone’s life they dream of Disney World. I went as a kid many times, although my memories are a bit of a blur. I remember visiting my grandparents and seeing Mickey. That’s about it. Now I dream of taking my 3-year-old but I want her to remember a little more than I do.
Last year we went to Florida we spent a few days in Orlando and avoided Disney. People thought I was crazy, but the truth is I was recovering from surgery and needed to really relax on that vacation. Now we are all booked up for our vacations this year, and so I am looking to next year and thinking that Disney is on our 2014 bucket list.
I plan all my own vacations, but when it comes to Disney, I have no idea where to start. It’s been so many years since I was there and Disney seems bigger, better and completely overwhelming! So when I found out one of my local mom’s was a “Disney Planner,” I had to learn more about it.
Meet Lori and her wonderful family of 5. They go to Disney every year.
She told me exactly what I needed to hear. Disney can be overwhelming but with the right planning, it can be your dream vacation. A Disney Planner can help make this happen. A Disney Planner knows how to help you plan your trip with maximum fun and minimum stress, to quote Lori’s words.
There are logical stages to this kind of planning process:
1. When do you want to go and what kind of resort do you want to stay in?
A Disney Planner can share the pros and cons of the different seasons on when to visit, and will help you narrow down where to stay based on your budget – value versus moderate. Further questions from a Disney Planner include bed-size preference, need for a kitchenette, noise level at a hotel, preference to be on monorail versus bus, etc. This is what I mean – there are so many options just in thinking about where to stay that it seems much more overwhelming than a typical vacation. That is why I would definitely choose to have Lori (or any Disney Planner) help me!
2. Next you would discuss the dining options at Disney.
You see, I had no idea such a thing existed. You could get a dining plan! Depending on many factors that the Disney Planner would ask, this could be easily figured out.
3. What Disney parks do you want to visit?
This is where I get really overwhelmed because we have a 3-year-old. I want to make the most of my vacation but not miss the “must see” parts of the parks. I imagine this is even more useful for families like Lori’s, where there are multiple children in different age groups. A Disney Planner will also give you all the right tips on gates, lines, packing, the little things that make a trip easier (hey, that sounds like my name!).
The best part of a Disney Planner, IT’S FREE! That’s right, FREE! There is no hidden cost to using one. In Lori’s case, she works for Simple Travel Solutions LLC and specializes as a Disney Planner. When she is helping a couple or family book that dream Disney vacation, she knows the ins-and-outs of Disney, and she books directly with Disney so you don’t have to (they are not going to help you narrow down which resort to stay at, after all!). And let me be clear, she does not do it for the money (you can take my hint from there). She does this because she wants your Disney vacation to be as wonderful as if it were her own family taking the vacation.
Her husband’s first-ever vacation was Disney, and to do something like that as a family was such a way to start their Disney tradition that she wants to create that magic for others. I suspect that most Disney Planners are the same – I mean, who wants to make their dream of Disney World a reality and then it not turn out as good as they imagined? Let’s just say that we are super excited to plan our dream Disney trip for 2014 with a Disney Planner. After all, I am all about easy travel!
What about you? How do you book your trips to Disney and if you haven’t been, do you dream of it?
Note that Lori has helped people all over the U.S. but says you could easily find a Disney Planner in your area through Google. Also note that Lori did not pay me to write this post. All my opinions and thoughts are my own, but of course if you are interested in working directly with Lori, please contact me and I will send you her information.
